Ruti Ingerman (she/her)

Virtual / In Person

Hello! My name is Ruti Ingerman and I am a registered social worker. I’ve been a therapist for 15 years, working with parents, children, youth and adults and providing both individual and family therapy. The themes I work with include relational difficulties, family conflict, parenting, life transitions, loss, trauma, immigration, sexual orientation, anxiety and depression.

I started my career in mental health as an expressive arts therapist (M.A.) and soon after completed my Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. I use an integrative approach, drawing mainly from psychodynamic therapy, expressive arts therapy, emotion focused skills therapy (EFST), solution focused therapy (SFT), narrative therapy and Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I believe in lived experiences and I try to bring mine, such as being a parent and an immigrant, to practice. I also believe culture, gender, race and other identities, play a vital role in our lives, as do safety, connection and trust. I aim to honour and create space for these qualities and my style is collaborative and conversational.

I also have a profile with Psychology Today, to access that, please click here.

I am taking on new clients. I offer a free 20-minute phone/virtual consultation to figure out if working together feels like a good fit. You’re welcome to contact me at I’m looking forward to it.
